Scat : The objective is to have a hand that is as close as possible to 31.Description:
The objective is to have a hand that is as close as possible to 31. At the start of a round each player receives 3 cards. The rest of the deck forms this stock and is placed in the middle of the play area. The top card is flipped over placed next to it and becomes the discard pile. Players choose to either pick a card from the stock or the discard pile and then discard one of their cards all in an attempt to get a hand as close or as equal to 31. Only cards of the same suit or three of a kind count as points. When players are comfortable with their hand they knock on the table pp. All other players then have a draw to try and improve their hand. If a player collects 31 points the opponent immediately loses the round. The player with the lowest hand loses for that round. If one of the players who knocks has the lowest hand they give up a loss of 2 rather than 1. What happens if a player loses 4 times?.
