Beyond changing its appearance it also allows you to add extra functions to the traditional three buttons. For it to work its main attraction is the fact that your device doesn't need to be rooted for it to work. In pp the app allows you to choose a set background color or specify one for opening certain apps so that it changes to another color. Alternatively you can set the color to automatically change to the same as the upper task bar.
